As part of "Diets that Work", I recommend Melissa and Dallas Hartwig's "Whole30" diet.
The Diet has the following principles:
1. Do not consume added sugar, real or artificial.
2. Do not consume alcohol, in any form, not even for cooking.
3. Do not eat grains.
4. Do not eat legumes.
5. Do not eat dairy.
6. Do not consume carrageenan, MSG, or sulfites.
Feedback indicates that this diet is safe and results in huge amounts of weight loss in a short amount of time.
