The recommendations I will be giving you regarding Cancer Prevention come from "Diet, Nutrition, Physical Activity and Cancer: a Global Perspective" - the Third Expert Report from World Cancer Research Fund and the American Institute of Cancer Research

The recommendations:

1. Stop Smoking.

2. Be at a healthy weight.

3. Be physically active.

4. Eat whole grains, vegetables and beans.

5. Limit "fast foods".

6. Limit red and processed meat.

7. Limit sugar sweetened drinks.

8. Limit alcohol consumption.

9. Don't rely on supplements.

10. Breastfeed your baby, if you can.

It is important to note that the two most important recommendations after Stop Smoking are:

Be at a healthy weight, which the report defines as a BMI between 24.9 and 18.5

Be physically active, which the report defines as at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity or at least 75 minutes of vigorous physical activity per week.

Note that the recently released Physical Activity Guidelines 2018 by the US Department of Health and Human Services recommends at least 150 to 300 minutes of moderate physical activity per week.
